Years ago, a misunderstanding drove Kaylyn to marry dying Viscount Robert while pregnant with her lover Ryland's daughter, Mia. Ryland returns from prison believing Kaylyn betrayed him, and as her stepson, he forces his way into her life. Relatives Emily and Shawn circle the estate, scheming for the inheritance and attacking Kaylyn and her child.

A letter reveals the truth, Mia is Ryland's child. He sinks into remorse and begins atoning, protecting them. Through miscarriage, kidnapping, and deadly trials, they let go of hatred and the past, and the family of three finally comes together.
