Copyright & Takedown Policy
A short guide to how Syntax Notes handles copyright questions and takedown requests.
Our position
- Syntax Notes respects the intellectual property of others and expects visitors to do the same.
- We only host short study notes, title pages, brief previews of opening episodes (at most 10), and artwork for discussion purposes.
- We do not claim ownership of any third-party works discussed on the site.
- If you believe something on Syntax Notes infringes your rights, write to us and we will look into it.
What a valid notice should include
- Identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been used without permission.
- The exact URL or URLs on this site where the material appears, so we can find it quickly.
- Your contact details, including your name, email address and, if you wish, a postal address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the rights owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
How to send it
Please send your notice by email. This is the only contact method we use for these matters.
Send copyright notices and takedown requests to: contact@syntaxtraining.com
What happens next
- We review each notice we receive.
- If the notice is valid, we remove or disable access to the title page, preview or artwork in question promptly.
- We may also remove or restrict similar material from the same source while we review the matter.
- We will do our best to keep you informed of the outcome by email.
If content was removed by mistake
- If you believe your content was removed in error, you can send us a counter-notice.
- A counter-notice should identify the removed material, its former URL, your contact details, a statement of good faith that the removal was a mistake, and your physical or electronic signature.
- We will review counter-notices in the same careful way as takedown notices.
A note on repeat or abusive notices
- We aim to act in good faith on every genuine request.
- Notices that are clearly repetitive, misleading or sent to harass may be disregarded.
- This policy is a plain-language summary, not legal advice; if you are unsure of your rights, consider seeking your own advice.
