Clare, who had spent years studying the coastline, predicted that a devastating typhoon would strike within the month based on unusual sea and weather patterns. As the village rallied to pool their funds to expand a series of connected fishing rafts for profit, Clare repeatedly issued public warnings, urging everyone to delay the project and reinforce their facilities. However, her cautions were met with skepticism. The villagers, her biased parents, and her younger sister Clara—along with Clara's husband Jeffrey, who had heavily invested in the expansion—collectively doubted her. They even resorted to emotional blackmail, pressuring Clare to contribute all her savings to the expansion project. Resolute, Clare instead used her money to fortify her own house and fishing rafts to the highest standards.

The typhoon made landfall earlier than anticipated, and the village's makeshift fishing rafts were completely destroyed. Only Clare's well-reinforced rafts remained intact, allowing her to sell her catch at exceptionally high prices, earning a fortune of one million. Meanwhile, the entire village, Clare's parents, and Clara and Jeffrey lost everything. Jeffrey was investigated for running an unauthorized investment scheme, and Clara was left to work diligently at low-paying jobs to repay their debts. Clare, on the other hand, upgraded her operations to a modern, technology-driven fish farming operation. Once her business stabilized, she became deeply involved in community service.
