The couple ran a small convenience store, but ever since strange and unsettling noises started coming from the back storeroom, Zhang Jianjun had been on high alert, forbidding his wife, Wang Xiuying, from going near it. Wang Xiuying soon started noticing unusual signs: mysterious withdrawals from their savings account, unfamiliar items that seemed to belong to a woman, and suspicious pills. These clues convinced her that her husband was having an affair, and the tension between them escalated rapidly.

In the heat of their argument, Wang Xiuying stumbled upon a hidden door in the storeroom. To her shock, behind it was Zhang Jianjun's sister, her body covered in bruises and injuries. It turned out that she had been a victim of long-term domestic violence at the hands of her husband, Zhao Daqiang. Desperate and with nowhere else to turn, she had fled to her brother for refuge, and Zhang Jianjun had been forced to hide her there. Later, Zhao Daqiang came to their store looking for trouble, but the neighbors came together to confront him and offer their support. With their help, evidence was gathered, and the authorities were called. Zhao Daqiang was arrested and taken into custody for his abusive actions, and Zhang Jianjun's sister finally gained her freedom after years of suffering.
