After her husband Adrian is presumed dead, Elena struggles to survive, only to be diagnosed with cancer. Three years later, she discovers he is alive—and preparing to marry her half-sister, Sophia. Betrayed and pushed to the brink, Elena is rescued by Lucas, heir to the Hawthorne family, who helps her get treatment.

After recovering, Elena gathers the evidence and exposes their lies to the world. Sophia is imprisoned for murder, Adrian loses everything, and Elena finally leaves her painful past behind to begin a new life.
