In her past life, Katherine exhausted her family's resources to help her beloved Harrison ascend the throne. But once he became emperor, he tried to make Livia his empress instead. Using her family's influence, Katherine forced Harrison to make her empress. Harrison reluctantly agreed, but once he consolidated his power, he had her entire family slaughtered.

Reborn, Katherine decisively calls off the engagement and marries Lysander, the realm's most notorious wastrel prince. She takes it upon herself to transform him from a good-for-nothing into someone formidable. Together, they join forces to humble the arrogant, slap down the wicked, and scheme their way to seize the empire. In the end, two sovereigns sit side by side, ruling the world together.
