Chen Qianqian was working at the company when suddenly, the entire office started buzzing. Everyone was arranged into two lines, preparing to welcome the boss who had just returned from a business trip. Then, the new boss arrived. Chen Qianqian was stunned when she saw him—it was her ex-boyfriend, Gu Jinchuan, who was also the biological father of her child. Gu Jinchuan recognized Chen Qianqian as well and paused for a moment in front of her. It wasn’t until his assistant prompted him that he finally moved forward. Chen Qianqian wanted to resign, but as a single mother, she needed the money to raise her child, so she decided to act like nothing had happened. Gu Jinchuan recalled how, in the past, Chen Qianqian had broken up with him, saying he was poor and couldn’t provide the life she wanted. She told him she had already found a rich man and asked him not to show up in front of her again. (Gu Jinchuan had since started his own business and became a rising star in the corporate world). It turned out that not long ago, Chen Qianqian had gone to the hospital for a check-up and was diagnosed with late-stage stomach cancer. Heartbroken, Chen Qianqian left without a word. After work, Gu Jinchuan wanted to find Chen Qianqian to ask about what had happened in the past. However, he saw Liu Zhipeng, holding a child, coming to pick up Chen Qianqian. Gu Jinchuan’s mother had always been unhappy about his single status and had been pushing him to marry Zhang Ke. Gu Jinchuan had originally planned to wait for Chen Qianqian, but seeing Liu Zhipeng with the child, he was shaken and decided to give Zhang Ke a chance. The next day, when Chen Qianqian returned to work, she immediately felt that Gu Jinchuan's attitude toward her had become much colder. She was a bit puzzled. At that moment, Zhang Ke appeared, bringing Gu Jinchuan a lovingly prepared lunch. Zhang Ke came from a wealthy family, and she and Gu Jinchuan seemed like a perfect match. Just as both Chen Qianqian and Gu Jinchuan were preparing to give up on each other, something unexpected happened. Chen Qianqian’s rented apartment was found to have high levels of formaldehyde, causing her to suffer from poisoning. Worse, her daughter was diagnosed with acute leukemia...
