As a dragon, Jodi carried the blood of dragonslayers and a scarred face. Her husband and family abandoned her for it. Then she met Nick, the cursed Lord of the Cinderlands. One night gave her twins. Her daughter Kathy was taken by Melody at birth, and she raised Bella alone.

When her family forced her to marry Nick, she entered his domain with the wrong twin. Melody framed her for cruelty, and Nick banished her. But Nick then learned she was the one who saved him. After Jodi survived a forbidden trap, Nick declared her his wife, defied the clan's hatred for her blood, cut ties with her family, and finally held her and both daughters close.
