Everyone said Prince Jared was madly in love with Rosie. He had entered monastic life for her as a boy and now abandoned it for her. Only Rosie knew the truth. He married her only to clear the way for her sister's marriage. On their wedding night, she took a magical potion that would make her appear dead in seven days, allowing her to escape and live freely under a new name.

She left the divorce papers and lay in her coffin, waiting for the end. But Jared discovered too late that he had mistaken her identity all along. Rosie was the woman he had yearned for all those years. Overcome with regret, he took poison to join her in death. As fate would have it, just as their story seemed over, he found her.
