On her wedding anniversary, Jiang Yao, eldest daughter of the Jiang family, suffered a brutal betrayal. Her best friend, Lin Mengqi, tricked her into drinking a miscarriage-inducing potion, while her husband, Qin Zimo, looked on coldly and revealed his intent to kill her and seize her family’s fortune. In her darkest moment, Jiang Yao was saved by Xu Huaian, the head of the Xu family in Jiangcheng.

Following this ordeal, Jiang Yao’s face was severely scarred, and she lost her unborn child. Soon after, with Xu Huaian’s help, she underwent reconstructive surgery and returned to her former home under a new identity, Xu Ruoli. Her goal was to find Qin Zimo’s hidden ledgers of Qin Corp.’s corrupt dealings and send him and Lin Mengqi to prison. After a series of events, Jiang Yao successfully obtained the ledgers, leading to Qin Zimo’s imprisonment. Lin Mengqi was accidentally killed by Qin Zimo in the chaos. In the end, Jiang Yao discovered that Xu Huaian was actually Qin Xiao, someone she had wronged in the past, and the two ultimately reconciled.
