"He Zhiyan and Su Xingyao had been in a secret relationship for five years. Throughout those five years, he gave silently and steadfastly, only to discover one shattering truth: in Su Xingyao’s eyes, he was merely a stand-in for her cherished first love, Shen Yiqing.

Once he realized he was just a substitute, He Zhiyan left—decisively and without looking back. Only after he was gone did Su Xingyao begin to understand. The comfort, the companionship, the quiet devotion she had come to rely on… it wasn’t the memory of Shen Yiqing she missed. It was He Zhiyan himself. Over those five years, without even noticing, her heart had shifted. Filled with regret, she started searching everywhere for him, hoping to explain, to apologize, to win him back.
