In the final years of the Dazhao Dynasty, rebel forces stormed the imperial palace, and the princess's childhood sweetheart betrayed the country. The princess jumped off the city wall, claiming that she would rather die than see him again.

Ten years later, the princess lost her memory and became a palace sweeper named Zhao Atuan in the Nurturing Heart Palace. After a wild night with the emperor, Zhao Atuan fled in fear of being beheaded, only to find that the emperor searched the entire palace the next day...
