On the brink of their happy ending, he revealed his secret: he was the Emperor. Then, bandits struck. To save her, he took the blow—losing his memory and his face to the flames. All he remembers now is her. A terminal diagnosis followed. The ruler of an empire, entitled to the world’s best care, now lies helpless. With no one recognizing the scarred man, the burden falls on her alone. She works three jobs by day, sells her hair by night, all to buy the medicine that barely keeps death at bay. A kind doctor guesses the truth and looks the other way, offering silent aid.

But their fragile refuge shatters when the Regent—the Emperor’s own brother—discovers them. For the Regent, this is no act of charity. The woman sacrificing everything is the very one who, years ago, he believes abandoned him to his fate. He doesn’t know she was forced apart from him, just as he was forced onto the throne. Now, two brothers—one dying with only love in his heart, the other ruling with only bitterness in his—are bound by the same woman. One needs her to live. The other may need her to pay. Caught between a love that cannot remember and a hatred that cannot forget, she fights not just for a life, but against a past that threatens to consume them all.
