Cole, legitimate eldest son of the Northreach Hargroves, is framed as a bastard by his brother Derek's faction and exiled to deadly Outpost 37 with three Dreadstones, his maid Mandy, and a fire dying in three days. Reborn with past-life memories, Cole awakens the “Evernight Sovereign” system and becomes a rare alchemist: he crushes Dreadstones into powder to conjure bear traps, arrow towers, spike traps, walls, and farms.
