Commander Zhang Yuan endured three years as the Jiang family's ""useless son-in-law""—unaware his wife was a foreign spy monitoring him. When banking heiress Tang Mengrui triggers a spy war, traitors install his wife as chamber president to mock him. At a banquet, guests smash his century-old cognac as ""fake"" until his general verifies its worth. When he proves VIP status with an imperial ring, assassins poison him and kidnap his bodyguard Liu Siyuan.

His elite Fire Qilin battalion scorches the siege. Zhang unmasks his wife and top subordinate as foreign agents, burns them to ash in Central Street (boss escapes), and rescues Liu Siyuan. As Tang Mengrui vanishes in rain, Zhang stands victorious: ""The mask falls. The rebellion dies.
