After defeating a sealed ghost, Ricken travels to Blackstone City to find his family. He saves Lord Alden, who discovers Ricken is his long-lost son. At the Eternal Soul's test, Ricken reveals nine soul flames, stunning everyone and defeating his enemies.

Soul Lord Merris challenges him, while Saintess Kate claims a marriage contract with him. At the Ancient Sorcerer Academy, Ricken overcomes sabotage, forges the Philosopher's Stone, kills a summoned demon, and captures Tyrell for interrogation.
