With thirty years of restaurant experience from his past life, he turns ditch-dwelling crawfish into a culinary craze, builds a vegetable empire from nothing, and takes on corrupt officials, ruthless rivals, and the family who once destroyed him. Along the way, he finds a new love -- the broadcaster Valerie Stratton -- and a brand new reason to live.
