Lin Yuan and Zhao Kai were childhood best friends with shared entrepreneurial dreams. They partnered up to take on urban village renewal and old village reconstruction projects. Diligent and down-to-earth, Lin Yuan focused on grassroots research and stayed up late refining renovation plans, serving as the core worker of the project. Zhao Kai, skilled at socializing and networking, seized the chance to take control of the company and the entire project. Right before construction kicked off after the village renewal project was officially approved, Zhao Kai revealed his greedy true colors. He broke his promise, took all the credit for himself, and used his authority to kick Lin Yuan out of the company. He offered only a mere 10,000 yuan as token compensation, shattering their years-long brotherhood.

Crushed by betrayal from the person he trusted most, Lin Yuan refused to give in to despair. He resolved to make a comeback through his own abilities, reclaim what was rightfully his, and stand up for the village residents. Lin Yuan crossed paths with Gu Nian, an honest and professional architectural designer. Sharing the same vision, the two joined forces. Thanks to Lin Yuan’s thorough research, compliant procedures, and high-quality renovation plans, he lawfully regained full control over the village renewal project after official government reviews. During this time, Zhao Kai teamed up with his mother Wang Xiulan to constantly sabotage him: spreading rumors, blocking construction, grabbing resources, and even resorting to dirty tricks to ruin the project.
