Fang Nuan, a member of an assassin organization, was unexpectedly assassinated while out on a mission. At the same time, Xia Nuannuan, the wife of the Gu family far away, was forced into divorce and succumbed to various pressures, tragically taking her own life. Through a twist of fate, Fang Nuan's soul transmigrated into Xia Nuannuan's body. Given a second chance at life, Fang Nuan decided she would live freely and unrestrainedly. She left a note for Xia Nuannuan's husband, Gu Yanci, and ran away.

However, she soon discovered she was pregnant and found herself wanted by Gu Yanci throughout the entire city. Left with no choice, Fang Nuan fabricated the illusion that the mother had died, leaving only the child behind. Five years later, longing for her child, Fang Nuan secretly returned. On her very first day back, she was discovered by Gu Yanci and their five-year-old son, Gu Jing Han. Originally intending to escape with Gu Jinghan, Fang Nuan was instead forced into a complex emotional life.
