To exonerate her wrongly imprisoned mother, Layla entered Josiah's company but was constantly sabotaged by her stepsister. When Josiah was gravely injured saving her and fell into a coma, his soul separated, visible only to her. He helped her see through plots; she thrived at work with his aid. He even briefly possessed her hand to strike back at their foes.

Together, they exposed secrets and confronted powerful families. When the truth emerged, the mastermind was a close relative. In the end, Layla achieved her professional goals, Josiah woke up, and they found true love.
