Ryan was betrayed by his wife, Lucy, and his best friend, framed and imprisoned for the friend's crimes. In jail, a mysterious mentor taught him how to kill someone by writing down their names. Five years later, Ryan planned a grand birthday for his mother to make up for his past neglect. He found out about his wife's and his friend's betrayal. Unaware of his true identity, they had no idea he was plotting revenge.

In his vengeful quest, Ryan made a shocking discovery. Lucy, the wife he'd married to repay a kindness, was not the girl who'd helped him years before. The real savior was her younger sister, Erika. He'd grown to love her deeply.
