Vincent, a modern-day elite, time-travels to Great Wu and becomes a notorious playboy. The original Vincent had bought the top scholar title, only to be rebuked by Empress Felicity and frightened to death. After taking over his body, Vincent turns into a ruthless strategist and shakes up the imperial court with bold, brutal schemes. He exposes a corruption scheme in disaster relief by mixing sand into the relief grain.

He uses a shocking tactic to repel enemy cavalry, then launches an economic trap that cripples a rival state from within. Later, he travels alone to Great Qian and pulls off a financial scheme, taking one hundred and fifty million taels of silver and draining its treasury. Step by step, Vincent brings down corrupt eunuchs and treacherous ministers. He helps Empress Felicity secure Great Wu, restores order through ruthless schemes, and becomes her most trusted founding strategist.
