Elle has raised her cat Mochi for three years, yet he never lets her touch him. Then, on her new roommate's first night, Mochi crawls straight into the roommate's bed. Stranger still: Elle suddenly understands cat speech, and Mochi's voice sounds exactly like her cold, aloof neighbor, Bran. It turns out Bran is Mochi's real owner, and a mafia don.

Elle's newfound ability draws her into Bran's world. She can hear cat language, and she can hear the tenderness hidden beneath his icy exterior. From raising a cat to winning its owner, from ordinary office worker to the mafia don's most cherished woman, Elle's life is completely changed by one cat.
