Helen carefully budgets, bears mortgage and car loans, and helps her in-laws, yet her husband and daughter never appreciate her. After debts pile up from reckless spending, she sees the imbalance, ends the marriage gracefully, and cares for her mother.

Her daughter later matures; Helen lets go of past grievances and starts a peaceful new life for herself and loved ones.

Study tip: the first 4 episodes set up every conflict that the remaining 38 episodes pay off — watch them back to back before you decide whether to continue.
