The orphan Nie Yunxi, desperate to raise funds for her sister's medical treatment, applied for a position as a postpartum caretaker in the prestigious Zhou family. On her first night of employment, the second young master, Zhou Yanbai, was unknowingly given a spiked drink by the third young master, Zhou Yan, leading to an entangled misunderstanding where Zhou Yanbai accused her of trying to cozy up to the wealthy Zhou family. For her sister's sake, Nie Yunxi endured the humiliation and chose to stay.

During her tenure, she uncovered the schemes of the housekeeper's daughter, which had been sowing discord, and helped mend the eldest daughter's strained relationship with her husband. She managed to help a troubled teenager regain his focus and purpose and uncovered Zhou Yan's plot with his cousin to betray the Zhou family. When Zhou Yan's true lineage was revealed, Nie Yunxi shared her own hardships to help him recognize his mistakes and seek forgiveness. As time passed, Zhou Yanbai shed his prejudice against her, and the two fell in love. The entire Zhou family grew to admire Nie Yunxi, and when she decided to resign, they begged her not to leave, expressing their deep admiration and gratitude. Zhou Yanbai, in a heartfelt gesture, knelt before her in a heartfelt proposal, showcasing his unwavering love and respect. The two defied class boundaries to build a life together and ultimately found happiness.
